Gobble Gobble

Today I was able to celebrate my first Thanksgiving! I would like to say that I am thankful for anyone who takes the time to read my blog and care about me :)  Mom and dad told me all about the what the day would entail.  We'd go to great grandma and grandpa's, hang out, eat some turkey and stuffing, go see Aunty Ashley and Uncle Aaron (they are from California), and perhaps swing by Aunt Robin's too!

Well all I really heard was turkey.......then mom broke the news that I would not be eating turkey this year.......this was my reaction:

I'm 14.6lbs now, I think I deserve some REAL food! I even wore the appropriate onesie! 

I decided to pout for a while:

They've got me trapped...I'm forced to come along despite the lack of turkey situation.  Turned out to be a pretty good ride out there.  Luckily Uncle Adam sat with me in the back of dad's pickup.

After everyone but me enjoyed some delicious food, I got to meet my Aunty Ashley!  She's from California, but she and mom went to college together.  I decided to be nice and sleep for her most of the time....next time she might not be so lucky!

So I thought my day was going in the right direction (after my short temper tantrum regarding the turkey in the morning) when they did it again....my dad and mom teased me.  I was super hungry after being at Aunt Robin's and getting passed around, that I must have been delusional:

       Those jerks tricked me!

I had enough!

Sleepless in Rock Valley???

Not sure if you are seeing the trend...but these photos depict how I look as I sleep...something I did for a whole 7.25 hours straight last night!  Mom was prettttty happy and well rested this morning-as am I, so I need to go hang out with her- have a great day everyone!

My first milestone!

Holy wow...I am a month old already!  I was very parched when mom was trying to take this photo.  She has to do these things at the most unopportune times!  So my apologies but I'm a big kid, I need a drink.

I'll outgrow this dog one of these days! Maybe then I'll be happier...

My new lady friend

Yes, it is true...I have a new friend! Miss Gia Jon Plathe was born on Wednesday, November 17!

Now I'm just patiently awaiting the arrival of Baby VanKekerix and Baby VanEgdom!!

Back to Gia....mom and dad took me to see my new lady friend!

Dad was taking a break from holding my chubby butt, and Lance wanted a bit of a work out...

I think we make a pretty smashing couple, if I do say so myself.  Don't worry Lance, I'll treat her good!

2010 Cousins

Aunty Charmaine posted some pics of cousin Bryden...so I figured I'd blog about the little squirt.  Can't wait to meet her-we'll have loads of fun when we get together, maybe cause a little trouble.  I also have another cousin born this year, Eli.  He was born in August, so we'll all have to wreak a little havok in Thunder Bay!!

The Ladies Man

The other day mom and some friends had what they call a "Margarita Shower"....I was quite confused about what that could be. First off,  a shower is like a bath, but far more terrifying since water comes shooting at you like 90 miles a minute.  And a margarita is a beverage....so what are these ladies up to!

I later found out it pretty much means that I get all the attention while mom gets a few minutes to enjoy a Margarita!  So here is how the evening went....

Fat Guy in a Little Coat

Dad weighed me the other day...and I came in at a whopping 12lbs...at 3 weeks old! Ya, I'm packing on the pounds!  Then the next day mom got me somewhat bundled up to go for a nice walk to Whispering Heights.  Once she got there she realized.....

 ....alas, the hoodie she bought me a week ago is now too small.  My monkey arms are cramping mom's style when it comes to buying me clothes.  Anyways, mom joked that I looked like Chris Farley in Tommy Boy....view below :)

Birthday Girls!

This morning mom told me that it was Aunty Shannon's birthday!  Happy 25th Shannon! Mom took a special picture just for you.....

Then this afternoon I found out some more GREAT birthday news...I have a brand spanking new cousin!  Her name is Bryden Rose. She weighs 6lb 9oz...just a little squirt! Mom hasn't gotten a photo of her yet...but once she does I'll post one!  How exciting, she's exactly 3 weeks younger than me, and gets to share a birthday with Aunty Shannon!!

Just call me Jonah

Traumatic experience....out of the BLUE I get gobbled up by a HUGE whale. Yes, a blue whale at that...it was horrifying, I screamed bloody murder......

I was getting ready to say a prayer that this mammal would spit me out like what happened with Jonah! Then I realized I was in the tub....I'm good with it now.....I'm focusing on mom's flowers to distract myself from the thought of sitting in a whale.  Sorry Jonah, I can't empathize with ya this time around!

Four O'clock Fun!

Everyday at 4pm mom and I watch Ellen.  Mom thought I needed a bit of distraction, so she got out my play mat!  I liked it a lot. Hopefully she lets me play with this more often!  Here's a little footage of it...with Ellen in the background!!

Trick or treat, smell my feet!

So I didn't get to officially go trick-or-treating this year, but mom and dad did take me to the nursing home (where mom works) to collect some candy from there!  We stumbled upon some interested people when we got there!

So all in all, I must say I was probably the best looking pumpkin out there....sorry Nancy, you'll have to work on plumping up those cheeks for next year and you might stand a chance :)
